Paying for School

You can make a payment online in PowerCAMPUS Self-Service.

Choose the Bank Account option for no fee (PNWU pays the small fee). Choosing the debit or credit card option incurs a fee.

1. Log into PowerCAMPUS Self-Service.
2. Navigate to the “Finances” tab (right before “Grades” tab where you
   check your grades)
3. Click on the “Balance” hyperlink
4. Select the “Period” (semester) you want to pay for and the “View” of
   what you want to see (usually “Balance Summary
5. On the lower left side, enter a dollar figure in the “Amount” field, click
   “Make a Payment”
6. Don’t worry about the “Apply Payment To” field; that drop down menu is
   blank
7. The Payment Information window will appear; enter your bank account
   information and select “Continue”

Paying for school may be one of the most daunting challenges facing you today, but should not deter you from achieving your goals. The tips below are meant to assist you with identifying your costs, help with budgeting, provide ideas on how to pay without going deeper into debt, and how to make the best decisions when it comes to borrowing.

• Look for scholarships and other ways to pay
• Review financial literacy resources
• To access federal student loans, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
• Experiment with the federal “loan simulator” —you might find it helpful to put in some figures and see what monthly payments will look like after you graduate 
• Review the Federal Student Aid website for comprehensive details about federal loans, such as repayment options, loan repayment calculators, loan forgiveness, etc.
