The MAMS Admissions Committee will consider applications from all qualified individuals; however, in order to meet the PNWU mission preference is given to applicants from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and rural and/or medically underserved areas of the country.

The major criteria for rating applicants are academic potential, commitment to service in underserved areas, and personal characteristics.

The minimum age to matriculate at PNWU is 18 years of age and the applicant must be a US Citizen or permanent resident. The application to the MAMS program begins by submitting a primary application through the Postbaccalaureate Centralized Application Service (PostbacCAS). Applicants must designate PNWU to receive their application.

  • Applicants to the PNWU-COM DO program may request that their application be considered for the MAMS program by emailing admission@pnwu.edu.

A verification of the information provided on the application will take place. This may take as much as 30 days or longer. PNWU will receive the application only after the verification is complete by PostbacCAS. Applicants should review the PostbacCAS quick start guide and FAQ to assist them in submitting their application properly.

Foreign Coursework: Coursework taken at foreign institutions must have a course-by-course evaluation for US equivalence by an evaluation service and an official copy must be sent directly from the service to PostbacCAS.

MCAT/PCAT/DAT/GRE/OAT and other entrance exams:

  • Release official GRE score to PostbacCAS by using the GRE Designated Institution Code for PNWU, 3973.
  • Follow entrance exam specific procedures for reporting official scores to PNWU via web access or a mailed score report.
  • Entrance exam scores are valid for three years from the original test date.

Academic Requirements: Achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale in college or university coursework or a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale during the last 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of undergraduate degree study. This requirement may be waived at the discretion of the MAMS Admission Committee based on a written appeal from the applicant explaining any extenuating circumstances and what has changed in their situation.

Completion of the typical prerequisite coursework for admission into medical, dental, optometry, physical therapy, pharmacy, or other health profession schools. Prospective students are responsible for determining the prerequisites for the health professional program and institution of their choice.
