Hiring Timeline

We have begun advertising full and part-time faculty and staff positions for the Yakima campus and community clinical sites. The earliest start date for these positions will be January 1, 2025. As we build our team and grow our student body, hiring will be a rolling process. Please check our HR website for current openings.

Types of Positions

We are hiring full- and part-time faculty and staff positions for our Yakima campus and community clinic sites. Faculty positions will include generalists and specialists at each location. Staff positions, depending on the role, with either be PNWU positions or community health clinic positions.

Benefits

PNWU offers a generous benefits package. A full description of these benefits can be found here. Faculty and staff who require a dental license for their positions will have the annual licensure fee covered by the university. The SDM will also offer each faculty and staff an annual professional development stipend, which can be used to cover the cost of professional membership dues, continuing dental education costs, or attendance at professional meetings that are outside of the position requirements. The SDM will cover any travel and/or attendance at meetings that are required.

Research Opportunities

Scholarly activity and research are expected of all full-time faculty. The amount of time dedicated to research will be arranged on a per-person basis, taking into account teaching and other responsibilities.

Growth and Development

PNWU and the SDM support faculty and staff development. On-site programs are provided, and funding is available for faculty and staff to pursue professional and clinical development.

Onboarding Requirements

PNWU’s Human Resource department has a thorough onboarding process that includes a background check and drug screen, payroll and enrollment forms, and a professional photo for your name badge.

All faculty will be required to participate in a comprehensive onboarding and calibration process prior to teaching. A detailed program will be shared with prospective faculty during the hiring process.

For SDM’s faculty and staff who work at one of our three community dental clinics, there may be clinic-specific requirements that need to be met on the site.
