Demographic Information
Walla Walla is located in a beautiful valley surrounded by the Blue Mountains, wheat fields and more than 150 wineries. Boasting one of the most fertile agricultural areas in the nation, the Walla Walla Valley produces everything from wheat to asparagus, strawberries, and of course our famous Sweet Onions. Exquisite wines is what really tossed Walla Walla on the map. It is also famous for the historical Ft. Walla Walla, Whitman Mission, and the Marcus Whitman Hotel. It is known as a “college town” with lots of diversity coming from Whitman College, Walla Walla Community College, and Walla Walla University. Walla Walla has a population of 33,056. The combined population of the city and its two suburbs, the town of College Place and unincorporated Walla Wall East is about 45,000. The Walla Walla region also includes Lewiston and Clarkston, LeGrande and Pendleton.
There are multiple recreational and entertainment opportunities including: hiking, biking, outdoor winter activities, camping, berry picking, outdoor farmer’s markets, wine tasting, craft breweries, numerous farm-to-table restaurants, vibrant symphony and community theatres, drive-in outdoor theatre, outdoor music festivals.
