Quality Improvement Review

A request to the IRB to review a proposed project to determine if it meets the criteria of quality improvement. Quality improvement projects are typically designed to bring about immediate or nearly immediate improvement to patient care, processes or systems to establish set standards such as standard of care, recommended practice guidelines, or to improve the performance of institutional practices or local systems. Improvements are achieved through interventions that target health care providers, practitioners, plans, systems, practices, and/or beneficiaries.
