Policy:  
Gifts of books, journals, and other media in good condition are accepted by the Library in accordance with the University’s Gift Acceptance policy. The Library accepts books no older than five years and journals no older than ten years. Journal donations require preapproval by library staff. Library staff will determine which donated items will be added to the collection and reserves the right to donate, sell, or otherwise dispose of items. Donations with restrictions, such as permanent retention, special care or housing of items, or return of items not added to or subsequently removed from the collection, are not accepted. Library staff will not appraise the value of items for donors. 
 
Monetary donations are accepted toward the purchase of books and other materials and to support database and journal subscriptions. Please refer to the donor section of the PNWU website, or contact the Development Office. 
 
The donor of a book will be recognized with a bookplate on the inside cover of the book. Donors funding online database or journal subscriptions will be recognized on the library website.
