Student National Medical Association

Mission statement

The PNWU Chapter of SNMA is a club run by minority students of color for minority students of color. Our goals and objectives at PNWU are to serve not only as a safe space for students belonging to different backgrounds but also as representatives and proponents of change. We aim to ensure that the medical education being provided to us is culturally sensitive to the needs of diverse populations and is delivered without any compromises. We strive to make not only PNWU, but also Yakima, WA, an environment where students can feel safe, heard, and cared for through our efforts in creating opportunities for change, forming platforms to voice concerns, and educating those around us about the diversity amongst us.
