PNWU Students Connect With Veterans At 19th Annual Veterans Stand Down and Benefits Fair
This past Saturday, the PNWU SAMOPs Military Medicine Club came together to provide free Osteopathic manipulation to community veterans and their families at the 19th Annual Veterans Stand Down and Benefits Fair, held at State Fair Park in Yakima.
Participants included Navy representatives Samuel Billingslea and Laura Castro, Air Force representatives Alicia Latta, Elaine Corpuz and John Andrew, former service members Josh Stanfield, Richard Iverson, Jared Darlian and Zach Felke, and Arshi Gill, Charly Jensen, Bailey Hasenbalg, Drew Hollen, Tara Kronen, McKenzie Garcia and Jenn Bryan, all civilian PNWU students. The students were supervised by Dr. Moore, former Navy Physician.
"It’s a real privilege to be a part of such an amazing group of providers," said Sam Billingslea, PNWU OMS II. "The best part of the day was having a vet come to Laura (Castro, PNWU OMS I) and I with 6/10 neck pain. He was only able to turn his neck 20 degrees to the right. 15 minutes of treatments later he had full range of motion and no pain!"
"It was a great success and we had a blast serving those who serve," added Alicia Latta, who organized PNWU's participation in the event.
