PNWU SGA Presidents Meet with National Osteopathic Leaders to Promote University's Mission

Recently, PNWU medical students Laura Roberson and Katie Ferguson traveled to Scottsdale, AZ to attend the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents' (COSGP) winter meeting.

Each year, PNWU’s Student Government Association’s (SGA) Executive President and Vice President attend four COSGP business meetings, connecting with presidents and vice presidents from osteopathic medical schools throughout the United States to discuss challenges within schools and on the national level, health policy, and ways to improve our overall health system from the level of medical school to postgraduate medical education.

During their most recent trip, Roberson, SGA Executive President, and Ferguson, SGA Executive Vice President, met with representatives from Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as other SGA leaders. The meeting was Ferguson’s final meeting as the SGA Executive Vice President.

“I’m so thankful for having the opportunity to work alongside Katie this year,” said Roberson. “She has really represented our school well. At this last meeting, she did a presentation to the general council called ‘Women in Medicine,’ which really showcased her intelligence and strong will. She has worked so hard this year to enhance our education at PNWU, and I’m excited to see what she does in the future.”
