All Aboard! Dr. Elliott Takes PNWU's Behavioral Health Club for a Ride on the Yakima Trolley
"Today, we students will embark upon the great Yakima Trolley of Emotional Pleasure with Motorman and Doctor William Elliott as our guide," said Richard Arroyo, PNWU OMS II, preparing to climb aboard the antiquated rolling museum.
At 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, the PNWU Behavioral Health Club did just that, taking their seats aboard a Yakima Trolley Tours streetcar to explore the scenic and romantic Yakima Valley along Pine Street, while the students enjoy a well-deserved psychological decompression in historic fashion "as Yakima residents of yore."
"I, for one, envisioned myself a Yakima orchard owner of the early 20-century, cruising into downtown to sell my homemade hard-cider, and perhaps stop off at the Capitol Theatre to catch the new production of Le Gandarme Incompris," explained Arroyo. "It was a lovely event. The students both enjoyed themselves and were enlightened with the history of trolleys in turn-of-the-century Yakima."
