Norm Johnson earned a BA in Education with administrative credentials from Central Washington University. He later completed his MA in Counseling/Guidance at Heritage University.
Norm's political career started as the acting mayor for Mabton, expanding to the mayor for Toppenish. In 2008, Norm began serving the residents of the 14th District as a Representative for Washington State. Norm time as a legislator involved service on multiple committees including the Aging and Disability Committee, Audit Review and Oversight Committee, Capital Budget Committee, Early Learning and Human Services Committee, Education Committee, General Government and Information Technology Committee, Health and Human Services Appropriations and Oversight Committee, Health Care and Wellness Committee, and the Rules Committee.
During his time in office, Norm continued to support civic and business groups within the 14th District, serving as a member of the Yakima Rotary Club, Board of Directors of Providence Toppenish Hospital, Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, and the Opportunities Industrialization Center among others.
Norm retired from political office in 2019.
