Adjunct clinical faculty may request access to a limited set of PNWU’s licensed databases. Please refer to Accessing Licensed Electronic Resources for more information and to request a login. Permissions are limited by our vendor agreements, and are subject to change without notice. Accounts expire each year on June 30 for ACFs who have had no preceptor activity within the past 12 months.
Once your PNWU login has been created, you can access the approved databases through our proxy server. Please make sure you follow the instructions sent by PNWU Technology Services to create a secure password before you attempt to log in to licensed resources.
Note: the PubMed@PNWU link will not work with your ACF login. You can access many full text articles when you search directly in MEDLINE Complete or CINAHL Complete. You can also search with pubmed.gov and order by email (see below). If you are a credentialed preceptor and you don’t have a PNWU login, you can still order articles through PNWU Library, provided your ACF appointment is current.
Our Library Search tool is accessible to all users, but links to full-text articles may be blocked due to site license restrictions. For best results, please use the links to resources listed below.

How to Order an Article: Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery
If you are not affiliated with a hospital that offers library services, PNWU Library can provide you with journal articles through document delivery or interlibrary loan. Articles indexed in PubMed can be requested by emailing the citation and PMID number to email@example.com. Please see Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery for more details. Items that are not indexed in PubMed can be ordered using our Document Delivery/Interlibrary Loan Request Form. Incomplete citations may be returned to you for more information, or may take longer to process.
Reference Services and Library Instruction
Reference service is available by phone, email, or in person. Library staff are available to answer your reference questions, provide instruction in database searching, or provide mediated literature searches. Literature search results will be delivered to you via email. Please use the Literature Search Request Form.
Circulating books may be checked out for two weeks; reserve books for 24 hours. Journals and reference books may be used in the library only. Please show your photo ID and identify yourself as a PNWU adjunct clinical faculty member when checking out materials.
