Mobile Applications

Content from many of our core licensed databases can be accessed through mobile apps for iOS and Android.  Make sure you follow the instructions for each resource to link to our subscriptions.  Both DynaMed Plus and UpToDate support point-of-care diagnosis and treatment. Adjunct clinical faculty and qualified residents may request access to DynaMed Plus through PNWU Library.

DynaMed is an evidence-based, point-of-care resource that is updated daily. To use the app, go to the Databases page of the library website and select DynaMed. You will need to create a user account that is tied to our institutional subscription.

Visit this page from EBSCO on how to log in and use the app.

You will need to verify your account online (either from on campus or through the proxy) every three months (90 days) to keep your credentials active and maintain access. This is a two-part process; first you must access the database from the PNWU network, then log into your user account to authenticate.

For additional information, see EBSCO Help, or contact library staff.

 iOS,  Android

To use the UpToDate app, you need to create a user account while you are linked to PNWU’s subscription to the database.

The easiest way to do that is:

  • Go to the “Find” section on the library’s web page,, and click on the Databases link, then click on the UpToDate link. If you are off campus, you will be prompted to log in to the proxy server (using your PNWU username and password).
  • In the upper right corner of the UpToDate page, it should say, “Welcome, Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.” Click on the adjacent link that says Log In/Register. You will be prompted to create an account with a unique username and password.
  • Once that account is created, you can download the UpToDate app from the App Store or Google Play to your smart phone or tablet. Log in to the app using your account info, which will then be tied to our institutional subscription.
  • You will need to verify your account online (either from on campus, or through the proxy) every 90 days to keep your credentials active and maintain access.

Other database apps

iOS, Android

The ClinicalKey app lets you access full-text journal articles, eBooks, drug information, procedural videos, and much more from your mobile device.

Trip Database

Search engine combining coverage of the medical evidence base with an easy to use interface. Trip enables health professionals to find trusted answers for their clinical questions. When you sign in with your Trip Pro login, you can view some extra features, but the app does not currently support linking out to full text from our library databases.
