Lisa Steele

Lisa is responsible for providing strategic and operational oversight of the PNWU Simulation Center to assure appropriate education, training and assessment for student clinicians and practitioners in a variety of health care disciplines.

Lisa obtained her undergraduate education from University of La Verne (ULV) followed by her MPH from University of Southern California (USC). She joins PNWU from Western University of Health Sciences (WesternU), where she served as the Simulation & Clinical Skills Educator, simultaneously taking on the role of Assistant Director, and culminating her career as the Director of Simulation. Her leadership with audio visual solutions enabled WesternU to revamp the Clinical Skills Lab (CSL) in efforts to streamline the effectiveness of the system, as well as preparing 4 simulation rooms to be brought online for future growth. Her expertise in the AVS system brought a new level of functionality to the lab, allowing for streamlined scheduling, data reporting and Inter-Rater Reliability (IRR) for accuracy and training purposes.

In her role at WesternU, she served a wide range of health science programs such as Osteopathic Medicine, Podiatry, Pharmacy, Nursing, PA, PT, VetMed, Optometry, Dentistry, DO/MD residents and practicing pharmacists and podiatrists. She has experience in multiple clinical environments, including home health, medical clinics and hospital settings, all of which directly influence her role in simulation. Some of Lisa’s primary roles included curriculum development & delivery, training SPs, staff & faculty, ensuring accuracy of assessment and remediation of students’ clinical skills. Through her direction and guidance, the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) has maintained the status of #1 at the COMLEX 2PE while the College of Podiatric Medicine (CPM) achieved a 100% success rate at their equivalent CSPE examination since its induction 3 years ago. Lisa is passionate about student success and education. She is excited to share her experience and expertise with PNWU as we strive to produce future healthcare providers.
