Military Match 2026

This year, 11 PNWU College of Osteopathic students who are Military Health Professions Scholarship Program recipients have successfully matched into specialties through the military match process, a significant milestone in their journey to becoming exceptional healthcare providers.

This achievement reflects not only their hard work and dedication but also the unwavering support of our faculty, staff, and clinical partners who help prepare these future physicians for service. Matching into a specialty is never easy, and doing so while balancing the unique responsibilities of military service is truly commendable.

Please join us in congratulating these outstanding students. Their success reminds us of the strength and resilience that define our PNWU family and the mission we share: to serve and improve the health of our communities.

Kiana Chinen

U.S. Army
Pediatrics – Tripler Army Medical Center

“Growing up, I sought care at military hospitals and clinics as the daughter of an Army service member. Now I get to train as an Army Pediatrician at a facility that I once sought care at on my home island of O’ahu, and it truly feels like a full-circle moment. I aspire to provide the same compassionate care to military families that I once received, and I am so excited about this next step in my journey.”

Jaymz Schab

“I’m incredibly honored to have matched and grateful for the opportunity to serve soldiers, families, and the military community through medicine. This match represents the culmination of years of hard work and a commitment to practicing medicine with purpose, leadership, and service. I look forward to continuing my training, growing as a physician, and providing high-quality, compassionate care while serving in the Army.”

Tanner Chase

Orthopedic Surgery – Naval Medical Center

“I’m incredibly grateful to have matched in Orthopedic Surgery at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Training in this world-class program while caring for service members and their families is exactly why I chose military medicine, and I’m excited for what’s ahead as a Navy orthopedic surgeon.”

Joshua VanderMartin

“The Match represents the culmination of the last four years of hard work and sacrifice throughout medical school. While I am not yet certain whether I will remain in the military after completing my residency and fulfilling my service obligation to the Army, I am excited to begin this next chapter as I work toward my goal of becoming a neurologist and a military officer.”
