Welcome to PNWU!

As Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences welcomed its largest-ever incoming class and a new President, the 2025–26 academic year launched with purpose and unity.

This week, we proudly welcomed our largest-ever incoming class of health sciences students — future leaders representing our comprehensive collection of interprofessional programs — and celebrated the arrival of our new President, Dr. Michael Mittelman.

For the first time, students from all five of our health sciences programs are on campus together, united by a shared calling to serve rural and underserved communities across the Pacific Northwest. Throughout a week full of orientation activities — from team-building exercises and academic prep sessions to shared meals and inspiring speakers — PNWU students, faculty, and staff forged new relationships grounded in compassion, purpose, and a commitment to transformative healthcare leadership.

Adding to the week’s significance was the arrival of PNWU’s new President, Dr. Michael Mittelman. In his first remarks on campus, Dr. Mittelman emphasized the university’s enduring mission, while encouraging students to lean into the bold and necessary work of health equity.

“This week was a powerful reminder of exactly why we’re here.”

“This week was a powerful reminder of exactly why we’re here,” said Paul Bubluski, Director of Public Relations at PNWU. “You could feel it — in the conversations, the curiosity, and the way our students already see themselves as part of something bigger.”
