PNWU Celebrates the Career of a University Cornerstone

On Wednesday, December 14, PNWU celebrated the illustrious career of a cornerstone of our history, growth, impact and ongoing success. Following over fifteen years of dedicated service in support of the mission of our non-profit university, the retirement of PNWU Chief Financial Officer Ann Hittle was honored during a lively campus gathering.

When Hittle was hired as a controller on July 1, 2007, she was just the eighth person to join our upstart health sciences university. Since then, she has been pivotal in leading PNWU’s growth.

Hittle’s external service impacts are also extensive, including roles as Chair the AOA’s Fiscal Officers Council, on Junior Achievement’s board, as treasurer of Yakima Valley Community Foundation board, and even as a volunteer with various Yakima non-profits.

“I am very happy for Mrs. Hittle, her husband, Mr. Ben Hittle (retired PNWU Director of Security), and their family as she enters a well-earned retirement,” said PNWU President Dr. Michael Lawler. “I will miss her bright mind, critical thinking, and deep commitment to PNWU and its mission. On behalf of all members of the PNWU community, I thank Mrs. Hittle for her devotion to our great university’s health and success.”
