Dr. Katina Rue Elected as President of the Washington State Medical Association

PNWU Adjunct Assistant Professor of Family Medicine Katina Rue, DO, FAAFP, FACOFP, was recently elected to serve as the president of the Washington State Medical Association (WSMA).

As the first DO to lead the century-plus-old WSMA – which represents physicians, residents, medical students, and physician assistants from nearly all specialties and practice settings throughout the state – Dr. Rue brings her whole-patient approach and community-grounded perspectives to the largest medical professional association in Washington.

“Understanding both the fragility and resiliency of the human condition helps give perspective,” explained Katina Rue, DO, FAAFP, FACOFP. “I strive to be a voice for those, like myself, who have less representation, less resources, and more injustice.”
