PNWU Body Donation Memorial Services Honors “The Greatest Teachers of All”

On Friday, April 29, PNWU hosted a memorial service honoring the individuals who donated their bodies to our anatomy lab and their loved ones.

“The memorial service is a time to remember those who made our learning possible,” explained Student Doctor Rachel Kelsall, OMS I and Class of 2025 SGA President.“They are the greatest teachers of all.”

The individuals honored during the service provide PNWU students with an invaluable opportunity to work hands-on with human bodies to assist with their anatomy education, explained Student Doctor Kelsall, bringing clarity to the complex system of the human body.

“This is an incredible gift that students do not take for granted,” she added, “which creates an endless ripple that will continue on and touch the lives of so many. This experience also allows for the development of respect, professionalism, and a deeper connection. These qualities are important for serving future patients and will be carried on throughout the rest of our medical careers. There are many emotions experienced in the anatomy lab and this service provides a space to come together and express those feelings.”
