About the Committee
The NIHC Student Engagement Committee is comprised of health professional student representatives from each of the collaborative’s participating health sciences programs. The committee’s purpose is to further the overall mission of the NIHC by providing a platform where a culture of interprofessionalism is established and where students engage in teamwork that deepens their understanding of one another’s role in health care, emphasizes professional values and ethics, improves effective communication, and embodies collaboration. In addition, students learn how each profession’s unique skill set can enhance patient outcomes and quality of care.
