FINANCIAL AID

The Financial Aid Office updates PNWU.edu with resources on funding, scholarships, cost of attendance, and other information. Email notices will be sent with time-sensitive information or announcements.

Award Notices

Each year the student must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. The information is used to determine the student’s eligibility for federal student loans. Once eligibility is determined, an award notice is sent to the student’s PNWU email. The email contains instructions about next steps, missing items, and how to access the Financial Aid Portal in order to accept, reduce, or decline federal student loans.

Any aid source (scholarships, grants, etc.) not listed on the Financial Aid Portal must be reported to Financial Aid.

Disbursements

Financial aid has a different timeline than the academic calendar for disbursements. Before the beginning of each term, the Financial Aid Office confirms that students are enrolled and attending on the first day of the term. If a student is not in attendance at the beginning of the term or no clinical experience/rotation is scheduled, the disbursement date of their student loan(s) will be delayed until they begin attendance.

All refunds will be direct deposited into the student’s bank account via automated clearing house (ACH)

Budget Revisions

A student’s federal financial aid eligibility is limited to an estimated cost of attendance in their academic program. If a student’s actual cost of attendance exceeds the estimate, a request for a budget adjustment may be submitted. Documentation of the actual expenses must be included with the request. Budget questions or concerns may be discussed with Financial Aid Office.

Military Reimbursement

Students eligible for military reimbursement of allowed expenses may submit the reimbursement form and receipts or documentation of the expense to Enrollment Services by emailing finaid@pnwu.edu.

Veterans

Students who have served in one or more branches of the US military, or have had benefits transferred to them by a parent or spouse may be eligible for education benefits provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Students wanting to use veterans’ benefits must provide documentation of their eligibility to Financial Aid. This may be submitted in person at Iron Horse Lodge, Suite 101 or emailed to finaid@pnwu.edu.

Each term the student wants to receive benefits, an email must be sent to finaid@pnwu.edu authorizing the certification of enrollment and tuition costs.

If you are not sure if you are eligible or want to learn more, visit Veterans webpages of PNWU.edu.
