Policy:  
Each and every employee is responsible for being aware of and adhering to PNWU policies and procedures, as well as maintaining proper standards of conduct at all times.  When an employee’s behavior interferes with PNWU’s reputation; operations; the safety of the University, schools, programs, students, and employees; and/or employees’ ability to perform their job duties and responsibilities, corrective measures to include disciplinary action will be implemented. 
 
PNWU will administer disciplinary practices in a fair and consistent manner. Disciplinary action may take the form of counseling, verbal or written warnings, or termination of employment, depending upon the number and frequency of past violations and seriousness of the offense.  

Definitions: 
Progressive Discipline are the steps taken to address the behaviors of an employee that violate PNWU’s policies and procedures and standards of conduct. The steps typically are as follows: 

  1. Coaching or counseling 
  2. Verbal Warning 
  3. Written Warning 
  4. Final Written Warning 

The circumstances and the seriousness of the infraction will determine the appropriateness of the action up to and including immediate termination of employment.
