Policy:
Federal regulation 40 CFR 116 requires all students, faculty and staff involved in transportation, making arrangements for transportation of, packaging, or handling any hazardous substance as defined by the regulation, whether on the PNWU campus or elsewhere, will have appropriate training as described in the procedures for this policy. 

All hazardous substances, including biohazardous materials shipped to or on behalf of PNWU must be prepared, packaged, marked, and labeled by a University employee knowledgeable of the material or device and be trained (which must meet OSHA training regulations) in the shipping requirements for the mode(s) of transportation employed (air or ground). 

Training occurs yearly and completion certificates are stored in the Human Resource Office.
