Assistant Professor of Anatomy
Dr. Balash is a graduate of West Virginia University and of A.T. Still University--Arizona School of Health Sciences, receiving bachelor and doctoral degrees in Physical Therapy respectively. Dr. Balash served nearly 28 years active duty with the United States Public Health Service, working for 4 years in Tuba City, AZ with the Navajo and Hopi tribes, and 24 years as the founding director of the Physical Therapy Program for Yakama Indian Health Center in Toppenish, WA. Dr. Balash is an expert in evaluation and treatment of Diabetic Foot disorders, is Army certified in Applied Ergonomics, and holds an APTA Board Certification in Orthopedics. Dr. Balash and has served on multiple federal, state, and local boards and committees.
Currently, Dr. Balash specializes in evaluation and treatment of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, treating adults and children at Cascade Summit Physical Therapy in Yakima. Her passion is to provide compassionate, excellent care for underserved populations. A native of suburban Chicago, she embraces the temperate climate of the Pacific Northwest and is an avid outdoorswoman.
