Her achievement was announced recently at the meeting of American Association of University Women and the University Women’s Foundation of Jefferson County.

“I was ecstatic to hear of this award,” said Kunz. “It will be very helpful in reducing the burden on my student loans, but even more so than the financial assistance, I appreciate the encouragement and support the UWF has provided me over the years.”

Kunz has received four academic scholarships through the UWF since her senior year in high school, which have gradually increased in amount as she’s progressed through her education. Already, she has capitalized on UWF’s generosity by obtaining her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and chemistry from Western Washington University as well as becoming the National Liaison of PNWU’s Pediatric Medicine Club.

“Medical school is mentally and emotionally exhausting,” she continued, “so knowing my family and my home town community are there for me when I need them is what really keeps me going on this road toward achieving my dreams.
